Behind The Studio

Hi, I’m Jo-An—thank you so much for being here.

I run Existential Studio from home while raising two sweet (and wild) boys and doing my best to navigate life with intention (lots of coffee and grace). I’m an Air Force veteran of 11 years, and my husband is currently serving on active duty.

I started this shop during a hard season in my life—as a creative outlet and a way to cope. Over time, it grew into something I wanted to share with others. I believe we all deserve to feel seen, supported, and reminded that even in the messiness of life, there’s still so much worth showing up for.

Gifting has always been one of my favorite ways to connect—it’s how I express and offer support, and mark the little things that matter. That’s why it’s such a big part of this shop. My hope is to make thoughtful, personal gifting feel easier and more meaningful, so you can show up for your people (or yourself) in ways that truly matter.

That intention is at the heart of Existential Studio. I chose the name because it reflects what this shop means to me: a place to honor our existence—our stories, our everyday routines, our connections, and the little things that give life meaning. Everything I create is rooted in mindful living and the belief that we deserve space—to feel, to rest, to create, and to connect.

It’s a reminder I come back to every day, and I hope you find something here that speaks to you—or helps you share a little bit of yourself with someone else.
